About this site

Wine Rack Guide is an independent buying guide for wine racks and home wine storage. It exists because the question "which rack should I buy?" is almost always answered by a retailer with something to sell, and almost never by someone who has spent a career watching wine be stored badly.

Who writes it

Alper Billik, Advanced Sommelier certified by the Court of Master Sommeliers. Every recommendation and every storage judgement on this site is his.

How recommendations are made

Racks are judged on how well they store wine, how they hold up in a real home, and who they genuinely suit. Every pick states who should skip it — a recommendation without a disqualifier is marketing, not advice.

Some racks here have been owned and lived with; others are assessed from their specification, materials and construction. Those are not the same thing, so every pick says which it is. Only a rack that has actually been handled is described as tested.

No brand pays for placement here, and no brand sees a write-up before it is published. That independence is the reason the site is worth reading.

How it makes money
